CW4870 has been in operation since 2005 with a Weather Channel (LaCross) WS2315. We have recently upgraded to a Wireless Vantage Pro2 Plus™ with 24-Hr Fan Aspirated Radiation Shield for even more accurate data 24 hours a day. I have been a weather enthusiast since the 70's clipping out the daily weather maps out of the Knoxville Journal and trying to predict the weather. I was an early fan of WATE weathercaster Margie Ison because "Margie said it would!" Like everyone else in East Tennessee I followed her over to WBIR. All through this period, I was closely following the weather for the Monroe County Civil Defense. In the late 90's, I worked with the Knox County Air Quality Management and began the first locally produced Ozone forecasts by adding weather instruments to the ozone logging systems in place. As a part of public outreach programs, I interfaced with weather forecasters across the state of Tennessee and Great Smoky Mountain National Park two-state region.
